I am using GTD for over two weeks now. Then I found your site. Great stuff. To use it, I've got myself a gmail accout and tried your suggestion. Still new to gmail but I found applying lable is not as easy as other gamil functionality(maybe there is a shortcut that I do not yet know). So I am trying to avoid it as much as possible. Here is how I did it but appreciate your thought.

- For each Project, I send myself an email.
- For each action for that project I replied to the email.

So I have something like project plan when I open the conversation. I starred the next action as well as context label for that action (i.e. !Call !Errand, ...).

As action is completed, I change the star and context label.

Your stuff was great and thanks for sharing.
